Spotify debut:
Apple Music:
On global Spotify NRO debuted at #10, Mother’s Daughter at #14, and Press at #19. Miley had the highest debut on global AM though at #25.
I guess the GP chose the single for Miley.

All of them are starting off to a good start. Really hope all 3 have hits. I’m excited for the promotion for alll 3 songs.
Miley better deliver!

It's important to note that AM isn't as playlist-driven as Spotify is and all three are very well-placed on TTH (Katy is at the very top there) while Miley is relatively pretty much paid dust to on both those sites yet is doing best. Imagine the same type of deal Katy has on Spotify for Miley and she would've had a Top 10 debut on the Hot 100. Miley is actually having a promising return.

“Miley is actually having a promising return.“
That’s because everyone is surprised at how GOOD her EP/Music is. She deserves the success & support. I’m really excited for the second EP of 6 songs title “She is here” dropping early Aug.

Yeah I’m really happy with Miley’s AM results seeing that pop music usually does horrible there unless you’re Ariana or Billie. Her even making it that high without any song promotion or radio deals is a great start for her. I was shocked at it peaking higher than NRO on US Spotify with all the promo Katy’s been doing. Excited for her!
NRO seems to be doing worse than ME! both in the US and globally which is not a good sign since ME!’s WW stats are horrible. Maybe it’ll be a grower :/

My God, you're extremely misinformed. Katy has a radio deal and a Spotify deal, meaning she's placed as the first song on the most popular playlists, something most artists don't have. It'll be EMBARRASSING if it doesn't outsell Shallow - a song that was released before the movie - in its first week. Shallow sold very well just on LM alone a whole week before promo started or the GP could see the movie. It wasn't whored out left and right like NRO but still debuted with stronger sales
AND so did Perfect Illusion and The Cure without Spotify support. And all those songs went #1 on iTunes too, something NRO has yet to accomplish.
NRO had huge promo from GMA on ABC and only managed to reach #3? Booooy... But I'm counting on Katy selling more than all those songs in her first week. If she does less, well... that tells you all of it.
You REALLY need to do some research

@Flopga
This is PI the day it got released: https://kworb.net/pop/archive/20160909.html
This is Shallow in its FOURTH update, a couple of hours after it came out: https://kworb.net/pop/archive/20180927.html
This is Katy's Never Really Topping iTunes Again after a whole day: https://kworb.net/pop/archive/20190601.html
I expect it to top Shallow and PI in its first week considering that it has much more promo than both those songs had in that same time frame
The only way NRO will be a hit is because of big radio support and promo, so stop acting like this isn't a bit embarrassing for Katy.

Prism had two diamond singles and are bigger than anything Miley's ever released. Miley was a bigger pop culture figure in 2013 but Katy still outsold. Ignoring the Artpop era though...we really do have to laugh
