Wait we're now talking about HIT albums and not albums overall but you mentioned

No, we're talking albums overall. I'm just saying that considering every Rihanna album was a supposed "big hit" and only four Gaga albums were considered hits, then why has Gaga accumulated more weeks in the top 10 than Rihanna all in all? rofl

Also, I just found this:

Pop girls with most weeks in the top 10 in France:

Adele - 103 weeks

Lady Gaga - 66 weeks

Britney Spears - 28 weeks

Rihanna - 24 weeks

Just to add insult to injury lol.

No, we're talking albums overall. I'm just saying that considering every Rihanna album was a supposed "big hit" and only four Gaga albums were considered hits, then why has Gaga accumulated more weeks in the top 10 than Rihanna all in all?

But how many weeks has Gaga been in the top 10 on Billboard 200 and how many weeks has Rihanna. You must be able to give me those numbers can't you?

How the hell talks about Rihanna's first two albums. I don't think most people care and people referred to her as a singles artist for the longest time. The thing about Rihanna is that her 2016 album was considerably more successful than her 2005 debut and her 2006 2nd album. Rihanna's last album Anti spent what 32-33 weeks in the top 10 on Billboard 200. Not bad at all.

Rihanna: 77 weeks

Lady Gaga: 98 weeks

When Lady Gaga crosses 101 weeks, she'll move to #10 among all females, Rihanna is outside the Top 20. How you like that?

Deal with it. Nothing about ANTI was bigger than ASIB. Nothing rofl

Nothing? Hmm

Anti era:

  • Work: #1 for 9 weeks, Top 10 longer than Shallow, 6x platinum
  • Kiss It Better: Platinum despite low peak
  • Needed Me: Top 10 longer than any Gaga song this decade and 5x platinum
  • LOTB: Top 10 longer than Shallow and 3x platinum
  • Desperado: Non-single, platinum
  • Sex With Me: Non-single, platinum
  • TIWYCF: Top 3, Top 10 longer than Shallow, 4x platinum
  • Two songs of hers from the same era are in Spotify’s All-Time chart (Work and TIWYCF)

ASIB era:

  • Shallow: #1 for one week after performances, Oscar campaign, and major theatrical release. Lasted in the Top 10 not even half of how long Work was Top 5. Only Platinum and hasn’t even outsold Work, Needed Me, or LOTB in pure sales either.
  • AWRUTW: No certification despite peaking similar to Kiss It Better

And despite Anti being one of Rihanna’s more local albums, she still managed to get nearly 2B more streams than ASIB has and with less songs. Not to mention Anti spent 32 weeks in the Top 10 while ASIB has been charting for 31 weeks and it’s now out the Top 20.

Even if you combine Shallow, ARUTW, and I’ll Never Love Again’s views it still wouldn’t match Work’s views and Shallow hasn’t even outsold Work’s pure US sales or it’s pure UK sales, OR outsold Work’s SPS sales both domestically and globally.

TLDR: Anti era sold more records, had tracks spend more total weeks at #1, spent more weeks in the Top 10, outviewed, and outstreamed ASIB. In fact, Anti gains more streams weekly than 90% of ASIB and 100% more than the rest of Gaga’s discography.

“Nothing” though right? 💀

Rihanna: 77 weeks

Lady Gaga: 98 weeks

I don't really care all that much considering that I don't stan for artist based on their chart success. I mean some of my faves don't have any weeks in the top 10 LOL.

98 weeks for Gaga. Not bad. Weren't like 47 of those weeks from The Fame(Monster), 26 weeks from A star is Born. Not much left for the ALBUM seller Gaga (the one who claimed she was an album artist that sold albums). How many weeks did the album of the decade spend in the top 10. 6 weeks or something about 1/2 of what Adele's 3rd album spent at no.1. LMFAO.

If we are talking about presence on the billboard 200 chart. Lady Gaga has 498 weeks while Rihanna has 596 weeks, based on 10 titles for both.

ASIB era:

  • Shallow: #1 in 20 countries, longest female #1 in numerous territories and broke records in such countries as Canada and France.
  • Despite only one single, ASIB has spent 26 consecutive weeks in the Top 10.
  • The album topped the charts in 21 countries and is still top 10 in many markets
  • The album has soon sold 5 million.
  • Shallow beat Work as the longest running top 20 single in Spotify history
  • Shallow is currently the second-longest running #1 in iTunes history
  • ARUTW: Non-single, Platinum and Gold all over the world.
  • Shallow spent two months in the top 10 in the US and is still top 20 in its 32nd week.

ANTI

  • Work topped the charts in 10 countries, exactly HALF of what Shallow topped.
  • Loud topped the charts in about five countries, ASIB topped the charts in 21 rofl
  • Shallow is a bigger hit than ANYTHING from Anti. In fact, despite releasing numerous singles, NONE of them outcharted Shallow WW.
  • The most important factor though: THE ALBUM sold over 3 million, while ASIB has sold 5 million.

I can't at you nitpicking to fit your narrative. Everyone with a half a brain knows ASIB is the bigger era because Shallow is bigger than anything from ANTI and the album sold more. Most importantly, it isn't DOA yet as it's still charting.

You Rihanna stans are something else.

Joanne wasn’t even a mainstream album but anyways. We’ll see how she does with this latest music release, that is if she ever decides to stop selling every other product under the sun except music.

Guava Island was a bomb compared to the smash hit ASIB so clearly Gaga won in the movie department. Usually every stanbase that attacks Gaga gets karma now that she’s the modern day Judy Garland.

Guava was never gonna be this huge hit. It was barely promoted and the film was 20 seconds long. Stop it.

Stop acting like Gaga made the film a success. Beyonce & Jennifer were offer the role both would’ve been successful doing so.

Everyone with half a brain knows that if The Shallows was on the Joe N. album instead of the ASIB soundtrack the song would have been just another flop for Gaga because the movie made the song a hit just like Million Discounts would have flopped without the Super Bowl. Gaga can't get a regular hit single anymore without some sort of insane promo to back it up. Rihanna can.

Rihanna got DRAKE on her track and that was also the ONLY single that became a hit. The two singles prior to Work all flopped, so did her soundtrack (ironic, isn't?) and everything post-Work didn't smash anywhere else in the world. And the only single that somewhat became a hit LOTB was a hit because of radio as its sales and stream stats show. It was the Close To Me of 2016 (HUGE on radio, non-existent sales). So while yes, I'm sure a big part of Gaga's comeback is her movie, I'm also certain Work benefited HUGELY from Drake being on it as both his album and songs in 2016 DESTROYED anything Rihanna released.

Shallow would've flopped on Joanne, yes. But... so? It was still much bigger than anything Rihanna has released since like 2012 and it's also quite arguably bigger than anything on ANTI as is the whole ASIB era.

A big part of the reason why the movie was a huge success and had long legs was the chemistry between Gaga and Bradley, a chemistry you would probably NOT have gotten with another actress. A big part of the reason for the movie's success was the MUSIC, songs that were recorded, written and sung by Gaga. Part of the reason why the movie had long legs was because of the ACTING nods, something Gaga is directly responsible for just like the music and the chemistry. So how on Earth do you think Jennifer Lopez would've been successful doing it? You think J.Lo would've scored an Oscar nomination? You're also namedropping Beyoncé, someone you said was a horrible actress but now you say she would've replicated Gaga's success during award season? I mean, Rules...

The last huge part of the movie's success was one little song called Shallow. I highly doubt J.Lo would've been nominated for an Oscar, let alone WIN lol. Also, the team that made ASIB had not even considered any other actress than Gaga hence why Gaga is LARGELY responsible and a HUGE reason the movie was a success. Take her out of it and you lose the songs, the music, the acting and the chemistry. I highly doubt most actresses would've been able to replicate ASIB's success.

So yeah, Gaga was a huge reason why the movie was a success and she even overshadowed Bradley in the long run.

Gaga is a TERRIBLE actress as well. This film would of had a following REGARDLESS of Gaga. No other actress would have chemistry? How do you know this? Beyonce could have done the exact same thing and gotten more praise than Gaga like she ALWAYS done much more than Gaga. Hell if Adele lost weight and done it I’m sure she would snatch as many awards.

Every single actress would bring something else to the table. ASIB would've NOT been the same with a different actress. Chemistry is something you can't really explain, it's really on a whole different level but to assume every actress under the sun would've had the same chemistry with Bradley when 90 percent of couples in movies don't have THAT much chemistry is just stupid. FACT is you would've had an entirely different movie without Gaga since she brought so much of her own into the movie. The music and the genre would've changed since country pop isn't exactly Beyoncé's genre. J.Lo wouldn't have delivered a vocal performance like Gaga, so there goes that as well.

We know lots of singers tried acting and failed. Gaga tried and succeeded regardless if you think she's a horrible actress or not. That's a huge accomplishment that I see this board ignoring time and time again. If it were so easy, lots of others would've had success with it but they didn't. Says a lot.

The funniest thing though is the fact that all of you were soooo sure she would've bombed and now you're all like "of course she slayed because blah blah blah" rofl Transparent as f-ck.

And that Adele comment you made is uncalled for. VERY uncalled for.

Oh STFU....

Before the movie opened you were claiming actors are not the reasons films become hits and then after it opened you were claiming the film was a hit because of Gaga and Bradley. You directly contradicted yourself and I already called you out on it and will post receipts if you deny it so don't try it. You always do this kind of bullsh!t

You're SUCH A MOTHERF_CKING MORON rofl

I said that names don't matter anymore like they did once. A massively famous actor could carry a sh!tty movie and it'd be a huge box office hit. Nowadays, it's much more about the plot and most actors can't carry a movie anymore unless the CHARACTER they portray is popular. You want me to drag you with receipts? wink

Gaga and Bradley's CHEMISTRY is what made people talk and recommend the movie. It wasn't their names alone that made the movie successful. Their chemistry was part of the movie's quality IDIOT. You truly need to train ya brain. Gaga's name didn't make the movie successful but her acting, songs and chemistry with Bradley did hence why she was directly involved in the success.
