Realize it, accept it, embrace it. Both have become fads who had two consecutive successful eras and then never recovered afterwards. No one cares about them anymore, and the charts are proving that. Y'all are comparing which single is the floppiest when both aren't going anywhere anytime soon and that's that on that!

I don't agree. The Cure hasn't had real single treatment yet it's #22 on the global singles chart with no promo or video. And it's a Top 10 hit in Australia and the fourth most played song on U.K. Radio. At least check the stats before claiming nonsense. I'm not saying it's a hit but it's doing moderate numbers (and great streaming numbers) with zero support from the label or singer herself.
Name one song that was #1 without promo? It also sold 80k in FIVE days, while Katy can barely sell 30k in a week WITH promo. That's another league in flopping, let's be honest.

Which is higher than Bomb Appetite or Swish Swish. Are they even listed in the bubbling under chart?
CTTR was doing that after payola, her Spotify deal, tons of TV performances and a very expensive video. You love bringing up the fact that MR went Top 5 because of the Super Bowl, but completely ignore the facts surrounding CTTR.
The Cure has none of those so it's doing very well considering its only real promotion is done by radio programmers who either add it to their playlist or not.
You're too much. Peaking at #22 without support and promo will be a Top 10 peak with those things. Idiot.

Wtf is "decent worldwide" when her last two singles can't even outperform Gaga's latest buzz track?

It's sad to still watch this argument. Why can't GaGa and Katy stans accept both of their time has passed and they'll never be on top again? It's more hard for GaGa fans to accept that she's irrelevant.

Excuse me? Coachella is promo? If a festival was good promo, most artist indie artists wouldn't need to go on late night and perform their songs. You're an idiot.
But going by your logic (claiming Super Bowl is the be all end all in terms of promo, which is why MR went Top 5), Katy's SNL and Carpool stints alone should've put her above Gaga in the US, but they didn't. The sad part is The Cure has at least been steady for some weeks now, but where would Katy's songs be had they not been whored out? #96 and #203?

Gaga hasn't lifted a finger and yet the song is still selling three times as much as Katy's whored out TWO singles COMBINED.

I'm not talking in comparison to Katy, we all get that Katy is a flop this era (CTTR is debatable)- I'm talking in general. GaGa is irrelevant. The SB was a nice night for her, but that's about it. No one's really checking for her either

I agree. However, this current song has a chance at giving Gaga at least one real hit again WW as it's already a hit in Australia and the UK and I believe if she released a video for it and promoted the song it might become her biggest since The Edge of Glory. She's literally done nothing for the song yet it's still a hit in two major markets. That's called potential.

CTTR has sold more than MR and TC worldwide combined though. Plus it's certfied platinum in more countries than MR. MR is the definition of LOCAL.

Yes, but the bigger question is why Gaga's winning with Katy AGAIN now that she's #28 without promo while Katy's below Top 50 with promo

Gaga is winning locally. Katy is winning WW, meaning she's selling more in total. Gaga has been reduced to a local artist at this point, while Katy (even though she's flopping) is proving that she's still a more WW seller.
