Producer-actor-director Norman Jewison has died at age 97. One could say Jewison had a long run in terms of both years and motion pictures, not constraining himself by genre. He directed Moonstruck (1987), The Hurricane (1999), In the Heat of the Night (1967), Fiddler on the Roof (1971), and many more. I might always recall him as the guy whom director Spike Lee reportedly bargained the Malcolm X biopic from in the '90s.
My very favorite film by Jewison is the brilliantly ensemble-cast A Soldier's Story.

RIP.
I've always really liked also Agnes of God (everything about and everyone in it except for Jane Fonda's performance).
