Sir Ian McKellen is known for his roles as Erik Lehnsherr (a.k.a. Magneto) in the "X-Men" movies, and as Gandalf in the "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy. He reprised his role as Gandalf in the "The Hobbit" movie trilogy.
Some other movies he appeared in are "The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982)", "Scandal (1989)", "Six Degrees of Separation (1993)", "Last Action Hero (1993)", "Richard III (1995)", "The Da Vinci Code (2006)", "King Lear (2008)", "Mr. Holmes (2015)" and "Beauty and the Beast (2017)".
