Happy 59th Mr. Capaldi!

I haven't seen any of his Doctor Who stories but I have loved Peter Capaldi since first seeing him in Local Hero as a kid. Still one of my favourite films and his performance as Danny Olsen the gangly young oil company exec, is sublime and hilarious. Just thinking about him running makes me chuckle!

He was, of course, superb as the foul-mouthed government communications director Malcolm Tucker in The Thick of It, one of the funniest British comedies of recent years, and the excellent spin off film In the Loop.

His final Doctor Who series starts tomorrow, April 15th, on BBC 1. If you haven't see any of his Doctor Who stories, rudely_murray, you better start! A new actor takes over the role at the end of the year.

Yes - I haven't watched the show since David Tennant, but I love Capaldi so I do intend to catch up on his episodes one of these days. Before his replacement steps in would be best, I agree!
