Bonnie Pointer, 69, has passed.
I was a big fan of The Pointer Sisters back in the day.
Bonnie's biggest hit, after she left the group and went solo, was "Heaven Must Have Sent You" (1979). I completely forgot about that song throughout the years, though back then (was in my teens) loved it and in fact owned a 45 rpm record of it. Hearing the song again now, first time in eons, instantly brings back a volley of memories.
RIP, Bonnie - and thank you for the music.
PS: I just now remembered I have the Pointer Sisters Greatest Hits CD. Glancing down the list of its tracks, some of the included songs are: "Jump (For My Love)"; "Neutron Dance"; "Fire"; "Automatic"; "I'm So Excited"; "He's So Shy"; "Slow Hand"; and "Baby Come And Get It". Great stuff!

Me, too - but especially "Baby Come and Get It". I think that's such a super-cool sounding song.

"Neutron Dance" just made the start of Beverly Hills Cop complete. I still remember Axel getting thrown around inside of that truck.

You can almost forget there are three of them. The harmonies and moves turned them into a tight music machine. One of the best groups of their day.

I agree, znex. For a while there, they had quite an extended winning streak going.

B Pointer sad to hear.
June Pointer sad to hear.
All great talents whether together or separately.
Ruth Pointer was already a grandmother when the P Sisters were in their prime.
Anita Pointer actually hit the Country charts in a duet with E T Conley when she hit #2 in US and Canada with "Too Many Times" (1986).

I think I read somewhere that she played the Grand old opry but I have to check which is another plus for her having hits in different genres
