He was born in Damietta in 1974. He traveled to the Emirates with his parents when he was four years old, then he joined the College of Engineering in Alexandria in 1992. He left engineering and studied at the College of Arts in Mansoura, graduating from it in 1998. Then he worked in the college as a teaching assistant for three years, then submitted his resignation and took up his full time. To write

سافر الى الامارات مع والديه وهو في سن الرابعة من عمره ثم التحق بكلية الهندسة بالإسكندرية سنة 1992.

ترك الهندسة ودرس بكلية آداب بالمنصورة وتخرج منها سنة 1998, عمل فى الكلية معيد ثلاث سنوات ثم قدم استقالته وتفرغ للكتابة
