As we digest the news of DDL's latest 'retirement', let's name our favourite performances of his.
Many will obviously go with Gangs of New York and There Will Be Blood but while he is undoubtedly eye-catching and dominant in both, I prefer him in the roles I list below.

This was tough to narrow down as every performance I've seen has been so good, but here are my personal favorites:
I still haven't seen Lincoln yet but hopefully will get around to it soon.

Updated my list to include Phantom Thread.
I'm not convinced that his 'retirement' will stick - he has stepped away before. But if so, this was a very strong performance to bow out on.
