«Deep Impact» still leaves a deep impact even after watching it again in 2025, for the nth time. A classic apocalyptic, end of the world, film that was produced in the 1990s yet appears to have been recently made in the 2020s.

Armageddon sick of these daft puns being used on here!
But seriously, I need to watch this one again. For some reason Deep Impact and Contact - both of which I found kind of meh-ish at the time - seem to get referenced a lot these days. Weirdly I found them both just run of the mill efforts but I guess I need to watch again and see if I was missing something.

I like Contact too. As far as the movie is concerned, I still can't make up my mind if she indeed traveled or not. 😅 (From what I've read, it wasn't open-ended in the novel.)
I guess it's more of how we like the genre or sub-genre? For example, there are productions and stories I don't like but are getting high ratings.
