Never heard of this Mechajutaro; unsure why so many on this board keep confusing me with him. I must say though, Bio, your writing style and the sentiments you've expressed are awfully reminiscent of a TMDBer who once went by GlompsAndNibbles

Not you lying .... I know who you are...
Why did his account get suspended? He ruffled a few feathers but he never said anything suspend worthy that I saw.

GlompsAndNibbles is a legend.
Mechajutaro is quite impressive too but he ain't no GlompsAndNibbles.
And that's the bottom line, cuz Gus Gorman said so!
...I probably would be severely underestimating. Just absolutely brilliant. Scorsese's magnum opus.
GoodFellas (1990) - 10 outta 10 stars
I prefer Casino, but there's no question Goodfellas has been the more popular between the two, for whatever reasons.
One element that was deftly woven into both films was when they began to turn on each other. When, in Goodfellas, Conway was directing Karen, you really feared for her; however, in Casino, how Santoro went from being Rothstein's "friend" and pit bull protector to chief enemy, it's a protracted slide towards oblivion that could only end with one of them dead and the desert scene is positively gripping.
But, hey, I didn't intend to rain on your parade - if Goodfellas does it for you, terrific. Most people would agree with you, as well.
I've tried to watch this a couple of times BUT 'The Godfather' ruined me for most American 'gangster' movies that came after.
I have seen 'The Godfather' more than 100 times, 10 were in the theater when it was released. I have the first 2 on VHS, all 3 on regular DVD, & BluRay (including Coppola's reworking of 3, Coda).

The Godfather is a fantastic film but the fact of Goodfellas and Casino are based on real life stories adds a bit of magic to them.
FYI I have seen The first two Godfathers at least a dozen times each with part two I have seen much more. That sweet revenge redemption at the end of part II has to be one of the best revenge redeems in all of cinema history. I also highly recommend the extended version.
My name is Vito Andolini, and eto es pa ti! (and this is for you!) as he cuts him from navel to nipple.

I love Casino too! It actually has my favorite Pesci scene.
You got that thing for me?
Oh Nicky, I thought yous was laying?
I'm laying? No, no, I'm taking.
You sure?
I'm positive.
I'm a little confused.
Oh? You're a little confused? Well, maybe if I stick your face through this fuckin' window over here, you'll get like, unconfused.
🤣🤣😂 That shit had me rolling when I first saw it. Pesci was born to play a gangster.

Funny, I much prefer Scorsese's 'non-crime' films. The Age of Innocence, Kundun, & Hugo. And it's not that I don't like crime films, I'm just not a big fan of American crime films (other than the godfather). I love crime/gangster films from the UK, South Korea, Hong Kong, & Japan.

Meh, his non crime films are decent but he really shines with Goodfellas, Casino, The Departed and The Irishman .
