This article, Deadpool and Wolverine isn’t just a bad movie – it’s changing the definition of what a ‘movie’ is, sounds an alarm.

Nope. There are actors in Hollywood who draw me - he ain't one of them.
Did you see it? Like it?
If you can assure me it's not just another vehicle for his wise-cracking shtick, but closer to something like Self/less or even Red Notice, I could be persuaded to give it a shot.

It was very entertaining, I gave it a 7. But I haven't seen all of his movies, don't laugh (or think I'm a philistine) but besides Blade, I thought his character in Trinity was pretty funny. I tried to watch Deadpool but it was too crude for me. I do remember his episode of The X-Files (Syzygy), he played a jock who was killed/sacrificed by two teenage girls. I think I saw a couple of episodes of "Two Guys, A Girl, & A Pizza Place'. But that's about it.

Me, laugh at @bratface? Never!
I may find an opportunity to see Free Guy. Don't hold your breath, but whenever I do, I'll likely jump into conversation on its board here on TMDb, and we can break it all down :-)

I agree; he tends to play slight variations on the same character which often works (for me) but sometimes makes me wish he'd try something different. I was more referring to your desire for intellectual stimulation in films, because you won't get any in "Deadpool & Wolverine". Plus you need to be fairly well-versed in MCU and pre-MCU films (and unproduced ones) to get the most out of the movie.
Self/Less disappointed me, but mainly because I had been trying to catch it for some time as I love Tarsem Singh's visual stylings and it turned out he seemed to have been told to rein them in for this. His next project (Emerald City) was much more like the bulk of his work. Unfortunately I seem to be in a minority as since that show (2017) he only seems to have done a music video for Lady Gaga, a rather touching ad for Toyota and a very "normal"-looking, from the clips I've seen, Indian drama. His long-promised Cold War movie doesn't sound like he'll be as flamboyant as he used to be, either.

Tarsem Singh, wow there's a name I haven't heard in some time. I didn't know he did Self/Less but if he was forced to water down his visuals I might have to take a pass. His 2006 film The Fall is one of the best modern fairytales I've seen, packing a lot of dark psychological intrigue in a gorgeous candy package. Bummer that he was told to rein in his style after that, kinda like Jean Pierre Jeunet who did the the amazing City of Lost Children only to dumb it down for the widely despised Alien: Resurrection.
I guess in general there's a trend of bold non-American filmmakers who get discovered by Hollywood on the condition that they dumb it down. And nobody ends up happy, least of all the audiences.
