After the destructions that where caused by the tsunami, the insulars of an Indian archipelago are rolled over by another surge of ruination: the flood of international aid organizations, which pluck this premodern civilisation into the 21st century. The film depicts the partially heroic attempts of the Nicobareses, to live in this world without drowning.

Na de verwoestingen die door de tsunami zijn veroorzaakt, worden de eilanden van een Indiase archipel overspoeld door een nieuwe golf van verwoesting: de stroom van internationale hulporganisaties, die deze premoderne beschaving de 21e eeuw in sleuren. De film toont de deels heroïsche pogingen van de Nicobaresen om in deze wereld te leven zonder te verdrinken.
