Wasn't terrible but felt like he took too long to express his point. I also thought the sex scenes were too gratuitous. I don't mind gratuitous sex if it has a point. It just seems like it was thrown in there for filler which he didn't even need because the film ran too long. I still say Irreversible is his best film even though the way it was shot gives me a headache.

You could have a gratuitous scene where something specifically happens that pushes the narrative in a particular way.
