In the confusion of combat, two Italian get separated from their squadron and become hopelessly lost. As they wander the countryside attempting to find their lost comrades, they have to adopt all manner of outrageous disguises to avoid death at the hands of whomever holds the reigns of control.

Scoppia la seconda guerra mondiale: tre uomini vengono uniti dal destino che non sempre è clemente con loro: uno viene mutilato da una bomba; gli altri due fuggono travestiti da tedeschi ma vengono catturati dagli alleati che, stabilite le loro identità, li inviano in prima linea. Fortunatamente viene dichiarata la fine delle ostilità.
