In that case take the movie "Medieval" https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/551271-medieval for example. That's czech production with czech director but the movie is filmed mainly in english but is still listed as English original language. Fifth element being French production has nothing to do with its original language. Also, "origin" language as in where it's from and "original" language as what the movie was filmed in are two different things. TMDB has Fifth element with "original" language as french and that's in my opinion simply wrong. And the field thats wrong is also called "Original Movie Language" which in my opinion should refer to the language the movie was filmed in..

I get your point. But the original language as french would refer more to the origin of the story, dont you think? But the movies original language should be english, as the screenplay was also in english. And in that case maybe the title should also be in english, but thats a different story.

Medieval is a coproduction between United States and Czech Republic.

Also, "origin" language as in where it's from and "original" language as what the movie was filmed in are two different things.

They are effectively 2 different things.

  • The first one (the language of the production countries) is the "origin language" field.
  • The second one (the language(s) spoken in the movie) is the "spoken languages" field.

And the field thats wrong is also called "Original Movie Language" which in my opinion should refer to the language the movie was filmed in..

The field that refer to the language the movie was filmed in is the "Spoken languages" field.

They are effectively 2 different things.

  • The first one (the language of the production countries) is the "origin language" field.

That makes no sense. The field is literally named Original Movie Language, not Origin language. If lord of the rings books were written originaly in spanish in spain, then lotr movies would have original MOVIE language listed as spanish?

The field that refer to the language the movie was filmed in is the "Spoken languages" field.

This also makes no sense. I'd understand if this field was named Dubbed Languages, but the movie couldn't be filmed in three languages at the same time nor the actors ever did three language versions.. Maybe get your field names straight?

The language of the books have nothing to do with the origin language of the movie. But, if the movies were produced by a Spanish company, they would have their origin language set to Spanish.

The field that refer to the language the movie was filmed in is the "Spoken languages" field.

This field have nothing to do with dubbed languages. It only concern the languages spoken in the original version of the movie. Even if a movie is mainly in one language, it can include some line in other languages.

This is what i mentioned with the movie Medieval, which was produced by czech and us companies, but was filmed in the Czech Republic by 50/50 czech/us team. Therefor the origin country is Czech Republic and origin language (as you refer to Original Movie Language) should be Czech..

The field that refer to the language the movie was filmed in is the "Spoken languages" field.

Why then is the "Original Movie Language" field not named "Origin Country Language"? Please just rename it so its correct or change the field names so they make sense..

The field is literally named Original Movie Language, not Origin language <--- this. the field is referring to the original language of the movie. Which has nothing to do with the country of production.
