Every time I read the headlines about the latest drone attack in the latest war, I'm reminded of how prophetic Ray Bradbury's book was to predict unmanned aerial drone warfare way back in 1953. But I can't remember if the movie showed or mentioned them? I don't think so.

Another spot-on prediction Bradbury made, which I don't think was in the movie, was the mechanical dog. It's pretty terrifying especially since it has 6 legs and kills people with a needle like a spider. It was a pretty major plot point, but I'm guessing 1966 special effects couldn't pull it off convincingly so they nixed it from the film adaptation. Anyway, today's military, bomb squad & police regularly use "robot dogs". They only have 4 legs and don't kill people but give it some time...
