Thanks for the link, I finally got a chance to watch it and was impressed. I hope this wins some awards and gets wide exposure.

It's really well put together, not just a barrage of war footage which might desensitize the viewer, but it's paced with glimpses of how they've rebuilt their lives 'underground', and the dancer adds a great artistic interpretation. Most war documentaries I've seen focus exclusively on the destruction, but here the overall vibe is resistance & resilience.

Can't believe the Russians after being forced out were such sore losers that they blew up the dam to flood the entire city and kill everyone. It was nice to see footage of some rescues (including dogs, cats & goats) ~45 min proving that, unlike the Russians, the Ukrainians didn't lose their humanity.

I find what is going on unbearable, and how the worst war crimes are being normalized by the media, with only the numbers increasing. Just recently, another baby died due to the Russian attacks on civilians.

In America it's hard to follow this conflict because the media has mostly buried it. I've had to turn to youtube since American media is only obsessed with the latest new sensation every week.

That's why filmmakers like Zarina Zabrisky play a crucial role in keeping this an active issue. If this film becomes huge, then maybe our politicians will take notice, get their heads outta their asses and do what they promised in the beginning.

If it's any consolation, while we're fairly well informed on the invasion of Ukraine in the UK, news about what Israel is doing in Gaza is very controlled. The UK government have declared Palestine Action a terrorist group after a stupid stunt they pulled (breaking into a base and spraying paint over military aircraft) and the police are now using this to clamp down on any pro-Palestinian protest or journalism.
