Creating a safe space for Jewish families free from antisemitism and societal exclusion in post-WWII Ontario, Abe Siskind founded Wingate, an extraordinary cottage community, complete with a grand-size swimming pool, swimming lessons, and summer camp for the kids. A co-op ahead of its time, with 28 cottages built from 1948 to 1955, Wingate flourished, evolved, and transformed as the world transformed.
