Only Palestine was part of the Ottoman Empire in 1911-1912, it was also filmed in Egypt, which was NOT part of the OE.

Irregardless totally, Brat . The film was shot in the Ottoman Empire. Then known as the dying man of Europe.
Watching the film you will see the actual Pyramids of Egypt as they looked that very year plus the highly defaced Sphinx. Anachronism. Napoleon's men are believed to have used the Sphynx for target practice in the late 1700s.

Many of Napoleon's largely Catholic troops could have had big disdain for Egypt's pagan objects! So a little truth probably goes with that allegation!
