Do you think they should have adapted "The Vampire Lestat" and "The Queen of Damned" as separate films?

The film adaptation of Queen of the Damned mixed elements from that novel and The Vampire Lestat. The main reason why they combined both novels into this film was that Warner Bros. was about to lose the rights to produce film adaptations of the first three novels of the Vampire Chronicles series back in the early 2000's.
Do you think "The Vampire Lestat" and "The Queen of Damned" should have had their separate film adaptations instead of mixing those two novels in the QOTD film which was released in 2002?

Knowing how things usually happens, there's a chance to plan it for 2 separate films and cancel it after the first one, so no, I'm pretty happy with this one.
