Seeing this is one of my fav movies - what would be similar movies? Any recs?

Good movie. Can't think of anything super similar, but maybe try Shutter Island, The Invitation or YellowBrickRoad.

It's difficult to find anything similar to this one. Some recs I can give you are Grave Encounters (the only similarity being it's in an abandoned asylum), Jacob's Ladder, The Invitation.

It's not so much the setting but the overall desolate atmosphere that I like. As well as the ambiguous explanations as to the actual cause.
I know Shutter Island, but I'll take a look at the other recs, thanks.

i saw this movie by accident one night. Scared the crap out of me. Had to turn the lights on afterward

Haha, yeah it can have that effect. Which is of course what makes it great.
