A dramatization of the early years of the hard rock band, Def Leppard, the group faces both success and personal tragedies such as drummer, Rick Allen losing his arm in a car accident and guitarist Steve Clark's alcohol addiction.

The legacy of Hysteria is undeniable. A classic album that was four years in the making, it dominated the charts for two years, achieved certified Diamond status and brought worldwide superstardom to Def Leppard back in 1987. Then in December 2018 Sheffield’s finest made their long-awaited debut at London’s O2 Arena and to honour the event, Def Leppard performed the ground-breaking Hysteria album in its entirety. This explosive, chronological set of Hysteria (+ more) features hits Pour Some Sugar On Me, Animal, Women and an encore that includes unforgettable classics, such as When Love And Hate Collide, Let’s Get Rocked and Photograph. This is a celebration of a career defining album from one of the all-time greatest British rock groups.

A performance captured live over nine nights during the band's spring 2013 residency at The Joint located in the Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas in which Def Leppard plays through the entirety of their most successful album, "Hysteria," in its entirety. Plus two additional hits, "Rock of Ages" and "Photograph" as an encore. Finally "Viva! HYSTERIA" showcases for the first time a career-defining album (excluding concept albums) performed live in its entirety - from start to finish - for a commercial audio/video release. "Viva! This program takes a track by track look at the making of the album. We speak to Joe Elliott, Rick Allen, Phil Collen, and Rick Savage who lead us through the original multitrack tapes. Joe and Phil play acoustic versions of 'Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Hysteria," and Sav and Phil demonstrate riffs and licks from the songs, and explain the genesis of the songwriting.
