This experimental film delves into the century-old history of Hong Kong’s iconic tram system. Through a nonlinear collage of industrial materials — wood, concrete and steel — the film reconstructs the tram as a contested vessel of cultural identity, embodying the tensions and transformations of urban modernity.

Appearance, hormone, sex appeal. When we are tired of everything about these, all we want to do is break, demolish, and destroy. With crazy cut-out animation, this film is trying to release us with the strong beat of the song and search for revenge in a chaotic but unique world.

This experimental animation approaches Hong Kong’s built environment from the conceptual perspective of celluloid film, by applying the technique of film animation to the photographic image. The city’s signature architecture of horizon-eclipsing housing estates is reimagined as parallel rows of film strips: Serial Parallels.

A stop motion animation film created using fabric patterns collected from Sham Shui Po District in Hong Kong. With lots of vibrant colors and different shape patterns, Fab-rics delivers the audience a visually pleasing experience by changing the fabric’s pattern according to the soundtrack created.
