Discuss Alien Collection

Although this was discussed before and was removed before the film released, it is very self-evident from watching Romulus that it is not a standalone film and has numerous continuity references to Alien, from the plot to the character of Rook (as well as to homages to Aliens), but also Prometheus. The new film effectively serves to connect the Prometheus strand of films to the mainline Alien continuity as well, but whether or not that needs to be folded into a big collection is up for debate.

Agree. The way I’m using collections to organize my library is being made difficult with Romulus not being considered part of the Slien collection.

I hadn't noticed this and had replied to another thread, might as well add my justifications here as well

The justifications seem to revolve around featuring Ripley, however they include Resurrection, which doesn't include Ripley (If we're simply including Sigourney Weaver, might as well add Ghostbusters) The movie is called Alien not Ripley, Prometheus, Covenant, Romulus, and the future final Ridley installment all have strong continuity, character, and thematic throughlines The Star Wars collection includes eps1-9 which are clearly three different trilogies, for Anakin, Luke, and Rey respectively. Therefore a single character is clearly not a reason to separate films into separate collections That the first four were collected in the Quadrilogy boxset is simply a lazy fallback position and not a real justification for the exclusion of films that were released after that boxset The exclusion of AVP is fine, films cannot live in more than one collection, therefore they standalone rather than being within either the Alien or Predator franchise The Predator collection being another example where no characters exist across various items in the same collection

Anyway, stop being so stubborn, these are clearly part of the same collection
