Discuss Olympus Has Fallen (Samling)

Item: ... Has Fallen Collection

Language: en-US

Type of Problem: Design_issue

Extra Details: Title of collection can potentially create problems on Unix-systems as it starts with (at least) one dot (.)

This results in the file system thinking it should be "hidden", and can break functionality of automatic grabbers/renamers/scanners that don't have built-in searching for such "hidden" files/folders.

Please consider renaming the collection to something that doesn't start in a dot (.)

This is something that should be take in account by the softwares you are using.

This is not specific to this collection name. This is the same, for example, for the ".hack" TV show. Will you ask the creator of this TV show to change its name for that reason ?

Hi!

Thank you for your reply, and yes, I do understand that this is something that the software should be taking into account. I am looking into the code of the software that I have seen this error cropping up with, but me being a tester and not a developer, it is slow going. If I find a solution I will also be sure to post that to the devs of the software.

However, that is beside the point, and not the reason for me raising this issue. I should be able to fix this on my end for my use case, but I believe in making sure that when inputs can be tweaked to account for sloppy coding (we all know that will happen from time to time), it should be considered. I agree that for cases like the show ".hack", it would not be feasible, as this would change the name of the show, and no, I would not ask the creator to change the name of the show.

But for a collection such as this, where I couldn't find another source for naming it "... Has Fallen" apart from here on TMDB (wikipedia uses just "Has Fallen" as an example, but please feel free to correct me if I have overlooked something), I felt it prudent to raise the issue for this collection. But again, I am just saying that it should be considered if this collection could be renamed, and as I am not part of those considering, I leave it up to you.

Please feel free to close this issue again, since I had to reopen it for my reply. Thank you for the great work you guys (moderators, contributers and all) are doing here, and have a great day!

The software I use for Scraper had this problem put on a topic about 3 months ago.
Since it has the ability to Rename files and folders, a Linux user faced the problem.
I don't know if it was or how it was resolved.

But there is also a problem to the contrary.
Linux considers filenames or folders the same but with upper or lower case difference as permissible.
For OSx or Windows, however, it cannot.
In Windows it is even possible to change something that is too hidden to change this behavior.

EDIT
In my country, Brazil (pt-BR), the famous film Gone with the Wind (1939)
was released with a title with this characteristic.
...E o Vento Levou (1939)

The name of the collection has been changed.
