Joy, a novel lover in her late twenties with an eye prescription of -15.00, clumsily loses her eyeglasses as she stops by at a convenience store in the middle of a night. Joy can’t see a way out, literally, until a good-looking man hands her glasses back to her, but they’re so badly broken that she cannot wear it. The man offers to walk her home. As the two of them walk, they chat about the kind of books they like. Joy tells him that she likes fiction while he tells her he doesn’t like anything fanciful, in fact, he likes history books. The image of him in Joy’s mind instantly shifts, he’s a nerd. The image shifts again, dramatically this time when the man picks up his phone and talks about murdering. Alarmed, Joy runs away and into a hooligan who wants to rob her. The man comes to the rescue. Once they are at her house, Joy gets her second glasses and brings out a history book to gift him as a thank you.
