Larry, a former big-city filmmaker, is employed by a self-indulgent redneck, "The Colonel," to document the exploits of his misfit ghost hunting team in the quiet rural town of Stagrassle, Mississippi.

The ghost hunters have tried for years to get into the Montgomery House, one of Stagrassle's oldest (and potentially most haunted) homes with no success. By now word has gotten out that thy are working with "a real director" and they are invited to do a hunt by the glamorous and wealthy Monica Montgomery, Stagrassle's shining star. But what is her real motive for opening her doors to them?
