Erin's family is on hand when she and Titus plan to announce their engagement at Thanksgiving dinner--which ends up in an emergency room.

Having driven her away with his drinking, Titus gets Erin back--by tying her in a sack and kidnapping her from her parents' home.

Erin is left with a broken leg after an encounter with a burglar. The crook is suspected to be her lowlife brother, whose next conviction will send him away for life.
