Narrator: "Fifteen years ago, today, you led us out of the darkness. You commanded the greatest rescue armada in history. Then, the unimaginable. What did that cost you? Your faith? Your faith in us? Your faith in yourself? Tell us: why did you leave Starfleet, Admiral?"
As Star Trek: Picard's teaser hints at, Jean-Luc Picard has retired to his family's vineyard in France after he led the "greatest rescue armada in history" 15 years ago. This was followed by a mysterious "unimaginable" event that caused Admiral Picard to quit Starfleet. The tragedy referenced is the end of the Romulan Empire, which helped create the alternate Kelvin timeline of the J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies. The moments in Star Trek when the elder Spock failed to save Romulus was the last glimpse fans had of the 24th century and Star Trek: Picard finally returns to the franchise's most popular era to reveal what happened. But as Picard uncovers buried secrets about Romulus, could he also discover a greater secret: what happened to the U.S.S. Discovery?

Oh no do not let DISC fuck up the TNG era as well and judging from the rejection of Netflix that it wanted the Picard show as remotely removed from DISC as possible and the fact that after the deal with Amazon the show went into a complete rewrite I think if I were Amazon I would stay away from DISC as much as possible since it's reputation of being a disaster for both CBS All Access and Netflix ,I think the showrunners of Picard and Amazon hopefully have learned from the failure of that show.
you've got quite a vivid imagination milady maybe you should write a book I think he was probably there to serve as amusement for the nobility and upper class guests so they can amuse themselves with this strange American boerish under educated twat.
I may not be a shrink but I labeled the man a narcissist sociopath a while back it's nice to see that my assessment doesn't differ that much from what an actual psychologist thinks about him .If those man of power hadn't been born into a wealthy family they probably would have ended up as serial killers most people in power or in jobs of power are narcissist to some degree and also tend towards sociopathic behaviour and prone to addictive behaviour, hence all the coke snorting on Wall Street(American Psycho is a nice satire about that).
But if we started to write script together it would probably would look something like a South Park episode or a Michael Moore docu (btw they already did a brilliant satire on Trump featuring Mr Garrison as a Trump like figure if you can one should try to catch those episodes where it is not Mexicans who bother him but Canadian immigrants ( ) are his problem and he makes a promise to the people to build a wall between Canada and the US only to find that (to his great anger')the Canadians beat him to it to keep out ignorant US citizens )
I think instead of building towers he wil be building walls.
Well Nixon is the last of in Stone's streak of great movies)Salvador,Platoon,Talk Radio (where Stone uses the power of simplicity and effective camera work in this much overlooked gem),Wall Street,Born On The Forth Of July. The Doors, and his absolute masterpieces JFK and Natural Born Killers also Lincoln is a bit of a bore leave it to Sr°tone to make those kind of movies,Spielberg too often feels the need to bring in schmaltz into his movies (with the exception of his more darker movies Private Ryan,Minority Report.the remake of war of The Worlds and Munich.
I wouldn't call Stone's movies boring Stone can be a master of editing and framing, also one particularly liked his style of using various kinds of film formats and editing between them both JFK and Natural Born Killers are great examples of that.Nixon is a bit in that same style also certain themes in JFK return in Nixon (in particular the Track One and Two Black OP's operations).
I actually have a sirector's cut of JFK which is around 200 minutes but once I start the movie I get sucked into the story (because of the montage of color film/black and white film/original film footage etc)and can't stop watching that those 3 hours go by without a hitch.Nixon btw is also three hours long so be warned. NBK is a briljant satire about US mass media, the fascination of US citizens with violence ,murder and serial killers, and the violence that is within US society.
We as in the royal we Invidia no I made it by myself with no help, and why would I put pasta on my pizza that makes the bottom of the pizza all soggy yuk!
