At an explosive homecoming dance, friendships in both Crenshaw and Beverly will be put to the test when decisions made by Spencer trigger an avalanche that drastically changes the course of several lives. Meanwhile, Billy finds himself forced to spend some quality time with Grace and defend his decision to marry outside of the culture. Meanwhile, Coop realizes that getting Shawn out of gang life may come at a steep price for her.

With Tyrone back on the streets, Spencer is being a little overly protective of Coop and Laura and finds himself in uncharted territory. Olivia is nervous about her upcoming SoLA Muse Cotillion and tries to lean on Asher, but he seems more focused on football than ever. Coop and Patience are trying to get back into a rhythm, but things get worse when Coop’s jealous streak comes out. Meanwhile, Jordan alerts Billy about what he sees on social media that makes Billy worry a little.

With Coop performing in Las Vegas, Spencer and some of the gang take a road trip to see her and Layla on tour. Spencer gets a little clarity on his feelings. Olivia notices that Jordan and Simone are acting suspicious.

Coop and Patience take a big step in their relationship, but things don't go as smoothly as they had anticipated, and Olivia offers to help. Layla's dad give her a touching graduation gift that brings up a lot of emotions she wasn't expecting. Meanwhile, Laura is at her wits end and steps in to help Billy.

In an attempt to avoid one big life decision about his relationship with Olivia, Spencer decides to attend the Crenshaw combine with Jordan, even if it means having to avoid another big issue…being in the same place as Billy. Meanwhile, Layla clashes with her father over a decision she made about Keating Records, Olivia contends with success behind a pseudonym, Preach gets a surprise visit from Amina and Asher receives some life changing news. Despite how the day begins, no one is prepared for how it ends.

Spencer finds himself struggling at the NFL combine when prospective coaches dig into his past; Jordan convinces Layla to take a day for herself while he handles her first brunch service at the lounge; Asher receives some unexpected news.

With Draft Day around the corner, Spencer celebrates the big day by making some lavish purchases.
