ONLY thing I liked was the cool looking robot. Everything else is garbage. Characters - awful. Writing - beyond pathetic. Premise? Irwin Allen should sue for defamation of character. This destroys what "Lost in space" should be. I could give credit (just a bit) to the actors, for going ahead and doing this awful show. I have struggled to watch 6 episodes, and it just keeps getting worse and worse. Only character I do not despise completely is Will. It is really hard to fuck up such a simple role. But n this case, he is kinda dry, but not totally annoying. This POS will probably get a second season >:(

Got through three episodes. Actually, it's all my bad. After watching, I checked the rating and it was TV-PG. Daddy can't deal with this s--t. Where's the grit in today's shows, does it all have to be darn' PC? (Expanse was good, Penny Dreadful was good.). If the robot is the only likeable thing, I say move on.

Any notice that nobody seemed to have any training for such a dangerous voyage. I mean the father was a complete imbecile. The father in the original and the movie was like a scientist.

And she was the second most annoying character. No fluidity or enough background to explain or support her actions. Bad writing from the show. I went and dug up 2004 The Robinsons: Lost in Space pilot. That was pathetic and this seems to be a rehash of that Titanic.

I agree with your assessment of Smith\Harris. IMO, she was "the scorpion" of the old fable. She tried being nice, maybe wanted to be (saving John in the last ep) but really could not check her selfish nature.
I watched the whole series honestly because I wanted just to see what would happen, but not because I cared. The Judy conundrum was one reason. I waited for them to explain where she came from!
As far as nonsense\annoyance, these folks go into space with NO WEAPONS. Nothing to fight any sort of aggressive alien they might find! All that knowing they STOLE the tech to get to where they are going; but no one puts defensive weapons on any of the Jupiter's or has an armory on board! It was like the horror movies where people go camping into the deep woods that they have never been in and no one brings so much as a knife for self defense against bears or whatever they may encounter. Sure, NASA sis not arm the Apollo crew but they were already pretty sure, like Mars, it was a dead rock. Here they are on their way to another galaxy, using another species tech... really.
In the end it all was a "meh". If there is a season two no doubt the friendly robot will have been sucked into the wormhole, too, and aid them in dealing with his world (a world of robots no doubt... Cylons!) Smith will have no choice but to be "good" as where the heck is she gonna go (actually she is the only character who go what she wanted... she wanted to get away from it all and well... she did!), and Don and Judy will one day kiss. Then something will explode.

I found her the biggest idiot of all! Like @TalisBriedis, I too like the robot, even if a bit predictable. But I'm just not buying the story. Too many of those over-done dead-but-not-really-dead moments. Cliche charters. I'm thinking many of us have just watched too many shows/movies. I talked with a teenager the other day who loves this series. lol

I am not high, and have no desire to make this personal. So perhaps we are just miscommunicating? How do you define "idiots"?

I agree, I didn't like it either. It more looks like a TV show for kids or non serious people. Robot looks cool though.

Hey, c'mon now, surely there has to be Somebody in the cast whom you'd just love to be "Lost in Space" with, right?

Season 2 got a lot better with some surprisingly well done character interactions though it does have some baffling plot points.

This show is sooo stupid. But I keep watching it anyway. The one thing it absolutely nails is Parker Posey's Dr Smith character. Whoever is writing that character knows sociopaths because her depiction is spot on. There was one particular line in the episode where they packed themselves into the crate in order to survive blowing up the school-room - "convincing people to do things is like your superpower." That describes every high-functioning sociopath, its like they have some kind of magic that hypnotizes people into doing whatever the sociopath wants them to do. If you've never encountered it before, it sounds made up. Also, if you've never encountered it before, chances are you will be easily hypnotized too.

I remember when Parker Posey was the go to actress for so many Sundance/Mirimax indie films in the 90s and early 00s. So many roles she had.
