讨论 杰克・莱恩

While I find this series mildly (passively) interesting, I have been struck by the amount of native dialog they have left in Season 2, particularly Spanish. To be honest, I'm kind of torn about this because while I appreciate the realism, and don't like it when characters in other series travel to other countries where everyone magically speaks English, I found myself wondering how effective it is to run a series with so much primary language subtitles.

While I kind of had some false hope that being forced to listen to Spanish would activate my latent education in the language, what I found instead is that I got tired of reading the dialog and end up just ignoring the non-English dialog. I'm not opposed to subtitled works, but to be honest, I have to enter in to them knowing I'll basically be reading all the dialog. This series struck me as it just mixed it in and expects the audience to go along. I can't quite figure out if this is a good thing or a bad thing...perhaps the end result will be that we will all become multi-lingual like the series hero Jack Ryan.

What do you think? Did you notice? Find it odd? Check out or just roll with it? Maybe it's just me!
