I just watched the first episode. It wasn't so bad. It centers around a family tragedy and as the family tries to find out what happened the mist rolls in. It will be interested to see how the season unfolds. Now that Fargo and Better Call Saul are finished I will be watching this every week.
At least that's what they were aiming for with the trailer.
Yeah, looks like it. It started OK, I was even ready to come to terms with this annoying family that I suppose are the main characters. And then the daughter got raped. (I guess it's not a spoiler!)
That's where it went downhills. OMG, I don't want your teenage rape drama!
I'm not dropping it yet, because the mist came - it's not a spoiler either, it's a glimpse of hope for everyone watching. But if get more drama than the mist, I'm out.
I thought the first episode did a good job with the jump scares right out of the box. The mother-daughter drama and ensuing opinions of the family by the locals should only be a jumping off point for showing a community that can break apart and become dangerous at any moment when they're forced together. I'm hoping they don't go over-board with the internal family drama too. I did like it though.
i didn't get halfway through either and i haven't been back since.
Yep. Have no desire to see any more of it.
I did like the movie, however, and even the ending that was different from the novella. It worked for me. I know people generally thought it was awful, but I thought it was heartbreaking and an apropos ending - after all they went through to get out.
I hope the television series has a better ending than the movie.
Or at least an ending where common sense comes into play when there are five people to kill and you only have four bullets and then you find out seconds later after killing everyone that no one had to die.
Note to self: Check gun for number of bullets. If not enough bullets...place two heads together and shoot from the temple with direct skin contact.
Now you have one bullet left for yourself. Off yourself quickly...no screaming or long whimpering over what you've just done. This will only waste time before you soon find out that there are survivors and the threat is over.
At least we got to see Dale, Andrea and badass Carol working together on the same set before ever seeing them together again on the set of The Walking Dead.
Dale and Andrea dies. Carol survives...with her kid this time. And, a daughter no doubt.

I got not even half-way through it, and turned it off. Snoozefest and teenage angsty drama.

Carol was a badass before she was even Carol!
