Discuss Star Trek: Discovery

So.....Pike.....so....we are...4 years roughly from Kirk taking over. Is Spock already serving on the USS Enterprise already or is he still at the academy? Will they cast Spock in season 2? How does this effect the prime reality of the show? Will it be smart for the Enterprise crew to be wearing more traditional star trek clothing? Thoughts?

You left out how they invented a brother Spock never mentioned before, and how STD mentioned Spock had a sister that's never been mentioned before AS WELL AS not mentioning her the brother both she and Spock have.

Well considering that Spock wasn't that open about his family in the first place because it was only in Journey To Babel we find out who Spock's father is and only after we are introduced to hem. but Spock doesn't tell Kirk beforehand that ambassador Sarek is his father, and considering the path his half brother choose (the part of the emotional like the Vulcans Archer came across in ENT)would it be that odd that Spock never mentions him because he is ashamed of of him or because Vulcan culture considers these Vulcans outcasts who stand for everything that is against the Vulcan philosophy of logic.

Star Trek 5 had an interesting concept but it was badly thought out as well as being badly directed.

Well to blame all that went wrong with ST V on Shatner is a bit unfair, everything during the production of ST V that could go wrong did go wrong.First there was a delay because Nimoy had some director duties elsewhere which led to that by the time Nimoy was available again just happen to coïncide with a screenwriters strike that by the time that was over and Shatner was about to start filming basically only a first draft was available. Then we had another problem caused by the delay that the FX company the franchise normally used (ILM) was so busy with other projects that they demanded exorbitant fees which would have basically swallowed the entire budget for the film so another company had to be found (who was not so good at the job). Then we had the problems with the head office of Paramount who didn't like idea of a movie about God in the first place and started to interfere with the production and the writing (so we have these odd moments of comedy because the head office wanted more humor in the movie because ST IV had been such a success).Plus the studio kept cutting the budget from under Shatner's feet so he had to improvise a lot the cope with that. After all these things it is amazing that Shatner got the movie made in the first place.

you have never had Klingon ale. It has blood in it. Gross.

Klingon blood wine seemingly wouldn't have just blood added, or whatever. It would be made FROM blood. i.e., fermented blood. As "our" wine is made from fermented fruit. What KIND of blood - targ, or whatever - is never specified. At least not in anything that really matters: TV episodes, or movies. People who write books can imagine whatever they like, but that doesn't mean anyone needs to accept/believe it.

Who was that green Goddess in the original series?

drinking Klingon ale by the way.

no one knows all I know is she was hot

sorry we are talking Star Trek Discovery when the cliffhanger discovers the starship Enterprise

You mean Martha?

which to my opinion, will not have Spock

Martha was that her name? the green goddess who, according to star ship records, is the one planet that shore leave is not allowed

oh my gawd. are you Martha?

the green Goddess ? the original series was the green Goddess that no man could resist

Nope I am neither female ,green or from Orion.

I don't know what kinda shit you are smoking mate but it must be some pretty heavy shit. herb smoking

It just like there going to try ripping off the Orville by adding humor. Because they have no clue why people like Orville better in the first place. At this point i just want Star Trek to die. Its already been spiritual dead for at least 18 years. Star Trek was about Ethics and Morality. Now its just about blowing shit up in space and torturing animals. Now Star Trek is like a old man. Being kept alive solely for his money. Paramount need to give up and realize there trying to get lemonade from a rock. There never make Avengers money with Star Trek. No matter how many old cast members they have to drag into there $hitty movies and TV Shows. Maybe they should try come up something new that actually good.
