At least he got to meet Randall and the girls before he passed. He really felt loved in the past few months, knowing his son and and the entire family. I'm so happy Randall let him into his life without hatred. Those last few scenes left everyone in my living room in tears. I'm also glad Randall got to travel to Memphis withWilliam, and William got to introduce his son to his old life, friends, and family. The last scene would have been even better if William's father was there with his mother to great him, but that would have broken everyone's heart all over again.

Cousins! I loved that moment with Randall in the club with his family. Despite being two sheets in the wind, that is the happiest I've seen him!
Again this darn show tore at my heart! I think I may need therapy after the season finale!
RIP William I will miss you!

See 👀, even the dog 🐩 can't handle it! How are we suppose to cope, if the dog is having a breakdown!? 😢😭

No they didn't!? Now that's epic. Because it's all over when the cat leaves the room. Cats usually aren't emotional. 😿

Not true! Cats (and dogs) are very intuitive, she doesn't like to see me upset.

I was having some fun to lighten the mood. We've all been grieving the loss of William.
I have two cats . Yes, I know how they can be. My oldest cat will stay by my side whenever I'm not feeling well and when I was sick. 🤕🤒
She is my constant companion. 🐈👩❤

This was such a beautiful episode. I cried like a baby and it lasted long after the show ended . Both Sterling K Brown, whom I adore, what an amazing actor and Ron Cephas Jones was incredible as William. I will miss his character. I loved seeing Williams back story. I'm crying now.
I loved William going to honor Jack for being Randalls dad.
PS My cat left the room as well. He is very sensitive.

I wholeheartedly agree with you on every point!!! I thought William had passed in his sleep or was taking his final breaths. Both William and Randall got much needed closure. So happy Randall did knock on his door that rainy day. So happy William got a lot of wishes fulfilled and lived --truly lived, and showed Randall how to do so. It's going to hurt to go back home and see that the room he was staying in is now empty:/ I can feel it already. I've been feeling it. I have never been effected by show in this way. William did a number on me. I loved him from beginning to end. Do you think Randall's wife knew this was the final goodbye? She experienced cancer before with a parent, but I wonder if she believed she would see him again. She treated him very well and educated her children--I think they will bring some much needed light to grieving Randall. Double whammy in his life; to lose 2 beautiful Dads. He didn't have either one for long:/ He lost Jack early, and lost William later. He sure as heck could have used an in between:/ I usually delete the show after I have completed watching it. I left this one on there. It was beautiful and it hurt, too:/ I sobbed very loudly; it really got to me.

I don't think his wife knew she would never see William again. That woman is genuine. I love, their love. The love of each other as a couple is beautiful to witness. She would have definitely made their last time together special if she knew.
This show has opened our hearts and allowed the warm sun to shine in. Even with the expression of our feelings in this forum is a side effect of how beautifully written this show is.

This might end up being 1 of the greatest episodes of any show that I probably will never watch again.
It was amazing. Brilliant.... and also, Gut Wrenching.
I knew this episode was coming, I knew he wasn't making it out of this episode. I thought I was prepared.... then this episode decided "hey, lets really test your emotional limits". I had to once full on pause the episode for several minutes, and one other time pause it for 5 or 10 seconds to collect myself.
What hit me the hardest was the comparisons between William & my grandmother. Although she wasn't playing in a band the day before, I recall her being feeling maybe the best she had in a couple weeks after almost 6 months of terminal cancer the night before she was rushed to the hospital. She too never ended up leaving there as well, not even 16 hours later she passed. So when the Doctor told Randall that William wasn't leaving, even now typing it out, I had to take a small pause just to type that out, so you can imagine the actual scenes impact.
All in all, the episode is brilliance. it was a great, absolutely masterful story of William that will be hard to forget. I'll miss his character. I only hope this takes some of the enormous weight on Randalls shoulders off now that he doesn't have to carry his fathers illness on there.

@canadagraphs I don't believe that will be the last time we see William. He's gone yes. But so is Jack and they manage to keep him alive for us.
At least, that's what I hope.

I was doing the same thing, crying out NONONONONONO!! Thinking William had passed in this sleep. I don't know how long the writer(s) can keep up with such quality episodes. It would be so disappointing to see this show go downhill after these first episodes.
