First post on this site, signed up since IMDb is shutting down discussion boards. But yeah I'm a guy and I cried. Awesome scene.

I am not a cryer while watching movies or TV, however, this last scene got to me!

It was probably my favourite scene from this episode. Just absolutely loved it.

It was very moving for me as well. I loved how Kevin immediately knew something was wrong with Randall and decided to act on it.
But another part of me is disappointed that his opening night was ruined, possibly killing his career (and screwing over Sloane, too). I also had to wonder if Kevin's rushing to be with Randall let him off the hook since Kevin had so many self-doubts about the play. And this way he didn't have to worry about bombing in his role.

I think it was weird that he walked out on opening night. I knew he didn't want to let Randall down, but he really let a lot of people down. Especially since he couldn't have really known what was going on. Walking out right after the play without greeting anyone or going to the opening night after party would have had the same impact without being so harsh, from a writing perspective.

I thought...good for you Kevin! Way to go. Your dad would be so proud of you for putting your brother...someone else, ahead of yourself and your own needs.
That was the most selfless act I've seen him do for Randall...ever.

I disagree that he couldn't have known what was going on.
That's his brother. He saw him earlier in the day and saw how he was acting...his demeanor. Something he has witnessed his entire life growing up. I believe he may have even spoken to him over the phone shortly before, if I remember correctly.
Randall needed him in THAT moment...not after the play or after party.
When someone is in distress and hurting and spinning out of control the way Randall was...you don't wait and talk yourself out of not responding in the moment or make up an excuse why you can't go and help that person.
I know some may say I'm being dramatic, but...people can die! What would be someone's excuse then? I'm sure anything and everything to help make themselves feel better.
Someone we love and care about should always be more important. Always!

Yours is the second comment I read about Kevin being nervous and this was good timing for him not to perform.
I disagree with that assessment. Kevin is a pretty self-absorbed person. However, despite that...I don't see him as the type of person to screw everyone...simply due to butterflies.
That one on one that he had with Miguel really helped his self doubt and was exactly what he needed. He was set to go on stage and do the play. He was ready and it was important for him and his career. In the end, Randall proved to be more important to him.
He will suffer the consequences no doubt. But he'll deal with that when it comes. I believe he would make the same choice again if he had to.
Kevin is finally growing up!
