If you were a child of the 80's and get good nostalgia from Stranger Things then I highly recommend the book Ready Player One. The long-dead inventor of the high quality virtual reality that most everyone uses in an economically collapsed future has embedded a hidden contest within the vast reaches of the program. Millions obsess over his early life in the 80's, seeking clues from movies, games, and culture of the era.
Movie of it coming. Looks very different than the book. Drop what you are doing and read it immediately. You'll thank me.

I second that. Very fun book. Don't know how they're going to do the movie though. They'd have to breach loads of copyright.
