1 of the things that stood out for me while watching that first season was the shocker the mute kid was a girl all along.

This was watched on a large screen. The character gave no clear impression of the female gender in its actions or in its appearance.

It was all rather androgynous

Season 1 with the short hair she could pass as a boy. I remember seeing Kristen Stewart in The Safety of Objects when she was a young kid with very short hair and she kinda looked like a boy. In fact, that was a plot point in the story.

C'mon dude, that's getting really old. She's a very good actress, and has won a ton of awards, she's the most award winning actress in 2022 for her role as Princess Diana in the movie "Spencer" she was even nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for that movie.
