Not a bad episode, but I was surprised by which storylines I enjoyed and which ones I didn't care for.

I usually enjoy Magnus scenes but his storyline this episode was my least favorite. I honestly don't know why I couldn't get into it.

I usually find Simon annoying,but I enjoyed his scenes this week. I always preferred Simon (in the books) when he wasn't pinning for Clary. His fight with Quinn was great,but I felt like he shouldn't have been able to take on a vampire much older than him (assuming that Quinn isn't a newer vampire than Simon). Maybe it has something to do with being a Daylighter. Speaking of being a Daylighter, I don't understand why Raphael can't put two and two together and figure out that Simon hangs around two Shadowhunters with angel blood. So him being a Daylighter has something to do with that. Simon could have also come up with a more convincing story for how he became a Daylighter, something that Raphael couldn't manage even if tried.

Finally, I always assumed that "Sebastian" was working for his father. Now I would like to know what Sebastian's plans are. Does he have the sword? Does he hate his father for leaving him for dead? He has demon blood, so what are his special gifts? Doe he plan on continuing his father's work of getting all the mortal instruments.

Now that Valentine is free, I'm excited to see where season 2 heads.
