Nicole Bloom is Great

I've been wondering how much of Cheyenne's character was the actress playing herself and how much was actual acting ability. And then I noticed she played Amanda (Lip's rich college girlfriend) on Shameless who is nothing like Cheyenne, not even remotely. The characters even move differently. So now I'm really impressed.

I was surprised to discover that Nichole Bloom is half (via her mother) Japanese. Portraying Cheyenne, she looks and seems fully Caucasian.

That's crazy man. I would have said full asian, not hapa. Her family on the show is asian.

Until the wedding episode, nothing about her ethnicity had ever at all even passed through my thoughts. Then, that episode, I noticed her mother (the woman portraying her) at the wedding table appeared to be Asian and I couldn't figure out why. Now it all makes sense.
Looking at photos of Nichole online, other than in Superstore, she does definitely look part Asian.

The first time that I saw her, I thought that she was Asian - Japanese or Korean. I didn't know then that her father was Irish-American.
