Plus the family just accepts that he's a psychopath.

Well not really a psycho, he had the right idea of learning more about the dead. Many important discoveries throughout history were made in ways that would be considered very immoral today but ok in a post-apocalyptical situation. If he really was a psycho, he definitely wouldn't have saved Madison and Allison after what they did to him.

He is a psycho. Separating the men from the women = rape camp. Luciana was no good for him to rape because she was dying.

Furthermore, what exactly did he "do" for them? He was going to murder Travis and Nick for his twisted experiments. Madison's actions were defensive actions to stop him.

Looks like you're projecting a bit too much, he really didn't look interested in raping either of them to me. He clearly inherited his old man's habit of being nosy and note everything he deems worthy though.

What he did? He saved both Madison and Nick which I confused with Allison, that's what he did. And the experimenting like I said, was a good idea in a world full of zombies.

he's not right in the head. he's tall and big and crazy. it's not going to end well for him, i think.

I agree he's not a good guy, but I wouldn't call him bad either.

with his new eye patch, he's the governor

Poor joke, the Governor is like 30 years older.

no joke. gov did experiments too. good looking guy, articulate, personable until he wasn't. he's just a young version.

You aren't aware that literally all armies have committed rape because that's what men do? LOL. What did you think was going to happen???? He was separating the healthy women and sending the men and the injured off to to be murdered in some basement. Gee, why is that? How come no able-bodied men were being spared? They could help defend the ranch, but I guess Troy doesn't want any strong men who care about Madison around to interfere with his plans. I wonder why. Troy also had no intention of sparing Travis and Nick after he interrogated Madison, and deemed her group worthy. He even told Travis that he was taking Madison and Alicia "home" with him. What did you think he was implying???????? Are you like 12? Are you going to say that the soldiers in "28 Days Later" weren't rapists either???? LOL. Episodes 1 and 2 and some of Nick's comments (that humans are more dangerous than the dead) seem heavily inspired by "28 Days Later", in fact.

Troy didn't "save" Madison, ever. Troy is Hitler running a concentration camp where he tortures, murders, and experiments on human beings. They already know that people turn when they die. Shooting someone in the belly, and then watching them scream, bleed out, and die doesn't teach them anything scientific. It is just butchery. Troy isn't a savior. He captured everyone and was going to kill Madison's male family members---were you paying attention? Troy's brother, Jake, is the one who stepped in and saved them. He forced his psychotic, murderer brother to behave. Troy isn't an idiot, he knows to behave when adults are watching. Besides, had Madison not fought back, then Travis, Nick, and Luci would be dead. Madison's actions are what got Jake's attention. Furthermore, Troy wanted to take Madison and Alicia "home". If he let them die, then he wouldn't be able to take them to the ranch, would he? Even after everything he still wants them to come to the ranch, and it isn't so they can spruce up the place. If he let Nick die, then Madison wouldn't be too happy about that. Shooting at the zombies also benefits Troy and his people because they were getting closer to the vehicle he was in as well. You're ignorant of psychology. Stop painting Troy's self-serving actions as altruism. He only does things if they will benefit him in some way. He doesn't posses the ability to care deeply about other people. Jake even told Alicia this much.
