Travis fell out of a helicopter high up and smashed himself on every branch of those trees. If he comes back, it'll be for a short-lived zombie cameo.

Cliff Curtis is supposed to have a lead role in the upcoming Avatar sequels. Because of that he may not have time to work on FTWD as well. So while I like Travis the character getting killed off isn't too surprising. Maybe he'll return at some point though.

maybe a flashback or figment of madison's imagination

Sad to see Travis go, but it does open up some interesting storyline possibilities for Madison. I expect her to go darker without him and become more of a leader.

Yeah, I suppose they wrote him out of it because of the whole Avatar commitment....
