Extra Details: This isn't really a special, it's a dupe of https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/155346 (a publicly screened feature film). It preceded the series by a couple of years.

After PBS broadcast Transformations of Myth Through Time, their video distributor issued it on 9 VHS tapes under the title The World of Joseph Campbell. Tapes 2 through 9 are parts of the series, but the first tape is this film (which was made by the same people). They use it as an introduction to the series. Bootleg DVDs of the series also include the film.
