The "Plastic Man" comment by Barry was just a nod to Plastic Man because of the power similarities, BUT.. Dibney is not Plastic man on the show. Even in one of the recent episodes when he mentioned that he doesn't even have an official name yet. That said I am not so sure they will go with Elongated Man either, for obvious reasons...

They finally went with Elongated Man in the last episode. I can understand the confusion though, Dibney doesn't act like Elongated Man, he behaves like Plastic Man. He's sort of amalgam of both, Elongated Man's name and backstory with Plastic Man's personality. Oh yeah as far as the topic goes, there was a funny line in the latest episode which made fun of the fact he wasn't in the Crisis Event.
