A Theory about what we Saw Tonight (SPOILERS)

I haven't watched the finale spoilers so I don't know the answer, but...is Iris dead? I'm using what we saw tonight to try and figure it out. Many people believe Iris is alive and H.R. is dead. But how is that possible when we saw Iris get killed?
Or did we?
I'm on board with this theory. H.R. felt horrible for allowing Savitar to find Iris, so he thought up a plan to die in her place...a plan Barry doesn't know about because he told them to not tell him what they were going to do so Savitar wouldn't know. When Barry was trying to shoot Savitar with the bazooka, H.R. traded places with Iris, and used his face-changing technology that Barry used earlier in the episode to make him look like Iris. Barry doesn't know this, because he wasn't there when the plan was made, so Savitar doesn't know it either. Both Barry and Savitar think Iris is dead, but everyone else knows it's H.R. That's why Tracy got so upset when the bazooka didn't work, because she then knew H.R. was going to die. That's why Joe didn't go hysterical...he knew Iris was OK. It also explains the conversation Cisco had with H.R....about saying he's responsible and he'll hold the fort down and he can be trusted. It was a thank you for what H.R. was going to do...the sacrifice he's going to make...and a forever goodbye.
I don't like this theory at all, because I think H.R. is awesome and I love the character. I cannot stand Iris and would be just fine of she died. The only other person I would be more upset with dying other than H.R. is Joe. He's probably my favorite character. If Joe was gone, this show would tank.
One interesting observation I didn't even make until I read about it after I watched the episode: where the heck was Julian? What was he doing the last time we saw him?

Me too. I'll be very upset of it's H.R., but I think it is. Something else I thought of to support that theory: When H.R. was saying goodbye to Cisco and looked down at the knife they have from Savitar's suit, he's looking at it ominously...as if the plan fails, a knife like that is going to kill him

The problem with that is, how did HR switching himself out with Iris? Savitar already had her when HR lamented his failure to Cisco.

This is a solid theory. It was alluded to earlier in the episode when Barry used the device to pose as Lyla. So, apparently you can change your height with it?

He could have switched her out when Barry was trying to shoot Savitar with the bazooka.

Not year, alternate Earth. HR brought it with him, and is how he walks around without being mistaken for Thawne/Wells.

No, that created physical changes using a biological sample from the person he'd impersonate. This was just an illusory tech; one HR could program so certain people, like Team Flash, could see him normally.

It's a decent theory. I read another one that this entire season has been Flashpoint, an alternate reality and that Barry will go back in time to convince himself not to go back (further) in time to save his mother. Basically erasing Savitar and this whole season from existence. I think this is more plausible.

How would HR switch places with iris..?i mean Barry and Savitar are both speedsters..and HR isn't..someone would have seen him switch..i mean the amount of time it would take HR to run up change his form and iris run away..that would take some time considering HR was no where in sight.
