The CW has the absolute worst writing when it comes to relationships. I get its a TV show, but seriously, the human behavior has to be a little believable.

Iris had every right to be surprised when you think that the previous episode Barry had ended the relationship after she took the ring off. She was angry when she took it off but it hit her when Barry said they needed space.

When Barry was trapped in the musical Iris had plenty of time to regret her decision to take the ring off, she was reminded how much she love and wants to be with Barry. She thought she was lossing him for good when the whole team said the was a good chance that if he died that side he would die for real.

Now after she gave him a kiss that brought him to life, she was amazed to find out that Barry still had faith in their relationship, that he still kept the ring, that he still proposed not to change her future but because he loves her.

Remember the song Barry sang her, it was saying something about not able to change the future but appreciating the moments one has. Iris was brought into tears in that moment, hence her surprise.

Yes one week they make up only to break up soon afterwards but this time I was rooting for Barry to do the right thing of which he did.
