They really need to scale it back. The forced drama is ruining the show. It's worse than most soap operas.
The nonsensical reasons for Barry and Iris to keep questioning things makes them come across as brainless and immature. It's as if the writers are so desperate to have constant relationship strife, they're coming up with unrealistic reasons to keep that tensign alive. It's having the opposite effect. At least for me.
It's ruining what was a really good show.

I really don't want Barry and Iris together, however, if they are going to put them together, just get it over with. Marry them off and keep her at her job and at their apartment. As long as she's not in StarLabs scenes anymore, that's a good start for me. Now with them broken up, she'll basically just be same as before in the lab doing nothing but none of that huggy-feely stuff with Barry since they are split up at the moment.

I actually want more Iris. In this episode, I think Barry made a wise choice to let his relationship with Iris rest so he could figure out the best way to defeat Savitar. But once he defeats him, I expect their relationship to move forward. Barry's love for Iris is the one constant on the show; it has never wavered. He has loved her since his childhood.

I agree and I believe that's why Barry choose for them to break up. He wants to make sure that he's got a clear head in finding a way to defeat Savitar for good. Once that's done he can focus on being with Iris. Now that he knows that Savitar is human, he's just got to focus on that to his advantage.

Now, every since Wally blabbed about Barry's reason for proposing to Iris, she has been passive aggressive towards him. That emotionless kiss and soulless I love you she gave Barry before he risked his life to save their Brother, Wally, was too much. I was like, WHY are you putting Barry through this emotional rollercoaster when he's trying to save your life. Iris is the kind of girl to increase Barry's anxiety level right before he goes into battle, and Savitar would be whipping his butt all over the screen. She needs to learn how to torture a man the right way: you know, six months down the line after he's completely forgotten about what he did wrong.

Goddamn, Iris and Barry. They need to be publicly flagellated.
