If the Federation is really worried about that stuff, shouldn't they have told Bashir he can't have children? Since they would presumably be genetically-enhanced as well, and their differences could lead to something Khan-esque.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the genetic enhancements Bashir got were post birth so these enhancements may not be carried over to the offspring.

If that's so, and if Bashir was genetically "slow" then maybe he shouldn't have kids for THAT reason.

Well maybe he isn't allowed to have kids that was something that was not mentioned but Starfleet did find out.

Maybe they figured the chances of Bashir's wife being augmented too were so slim, his enhanced DNA would never be passed on pure

Okay so they only had to make sure he didn't clone himself. grinning

Yes, because otherwise those Bashir cloned supermen might travel back in time to Earth's past and become the very scientists who started The Eugenics Wars!!!!!!

Perhaps not so slim after all. Starfleet investigations into Bashir showed he frequented dating websites, especially one particular site: "AugmentedBabesRUs.com where the girls are augmented and we're not referring to their boobs".

Weren't those other people he was helping in a couple episodes, also genetically altered? Just not as overall-successfully as himself. If Bashir had children with either of those women, LOOK OUT!!!

What other people you mean those folks that were so hyperintelligent that they had to be kept in an institution ,the people they used to figure out the Dominion's tactics???

Yes, they were semi-failures of genetic manipulations.

Yet they were smart enough to discover the Dominion tactics

And then they wanted to surrender to the Dominion.

Plus, not really so smart:

Bashir can have as many children as he wants. The more, the merrier.

Unless he were to have them with one of those odd genetically-enhanced "patients" he dealt with a few times, his own genetic enhancements would be "diluted."

Why this fascination with Bashir's genetics ?
