Season 1 and 2 were really good. I thought it was entertaining and it kept me coming back.
Season 3 was a bit ... off. It had more than one moment that left me scratching my head with discontinuities and poor story telling.
And then Season 4 was some of the worst television I've ever seen. Characters were drastically changed, forgetting their own strengths, histories, skills. The Lumen was thrown out and then the strongest Hero of the group was painted up like a poodle and then literally squashed like a cockroach. They threw out the mythology of the books and then made the most loathed character in the show the hero in the end.
I'm gonna be avoiding Carlton Cuse shows in the future. Season 4 was a massive and deliberate troll on the fans.

I totally agree with how badly they treated Quinlan. I knew he had to die, but............ disgraceful. I did enjoy the interaction/friendship between Q and Fet tho. I could of watched the whole season about just them and their love/hate relationship. Couldn't of cared less about the others.

Saw the show years ago and remembered having more or less the same opinion. Decided to give it a rewatch since nothing is really out that I care about. First season is indeed great. I'm on season 2 and it's mostly good but I can already see the seeds being planted for all the things I grew to hate in later seasons.
The kid. My god, the kid. He is in the running with Joffery from GOT for most hateable kid in a TV show, but at least Joffery was well written for the story he was in.

Finally watching this. Season 1 was fine up until the season finale. The whole bit with The Master was a bit too nonsensical for me. "He's on the floor! Let's NOT dice him up! He's floating in the air! Let's NOT dice him up! He's roasting in the sunlight! SUNLIGHT DOESN'T KILL HIM!" Say what now, and at no point does anyone surmise that since he's a big chungus, maybe they need to string him up in the sunlight for an extended period of roasting?
I'm on Season 2 Episode 4 and I cannot stand this kid anymore. I already wasn't keen on the acting, which I can look past cause he's a kid, but is he going to be a moody little !@#$ all through til the end of the series?

I gave up on it shortly after the pretty boy Gladiator was introduced. It was just too much stupid for me to handle. "Let's bring the roof down" to do what? Burying "The Master" alive isn't going to kill him. This show dragged on too long and I didn't even finish Season 2! Too many filler episodes of pointless fluff. "Let's have a face-off between Eichorst and Ephraim but let's not kill either of them!" No thanks, I'm good. I'll re-watch Penny Dreadful.
